A Japanese company (NEC) bags a $190 million deal for the supply of satellite to Vietnam


A Japanese electronics company has received a contract to supply a radar satellite to Vietnam country at the cost of 190 million US dollars. The deal is an advantage to the company, especially during this coronavirus pandemic, and the leading team players have to startup in these hard-economic times.

The real deal between the two companies will be soon in public and will mark the first export of an observation satellite by a company in Japan consists the cost of launching the satellite and the ground equipment in conjunction with the required amount of training the operators and engineers in Vietnam according to the company representative. 

The construction of the ground station is at Hoa-Lac Hi-Tech Park in Hanoi. The total cost of the project is about 470 million, and the financing will come from official development assistance as loans for low-income people, the representative added.  

The launch of the satellite will be in the year 2023, using the Epsilon rocket constructed by IHI Aerospace. If the coronavirus persists, the launch will delay because the Japanese and Vietnam engineers will take a lot of time to meet each other and work for the project, according to the company representative. 

There will be little growth in the budget of Japanese NEC, and it is concentrating on the oversee deals to expand its revenue; the partnership between Vietnam and Japan is strategic and vital to overcoming china. It is one of the best collaborations for the Tokyo based company. Vietnam has hopes that the Tokyo company will help it develop and operate its satellite. Mitsubishi Electric Company from japan exported communication satellites to Qatar, Turkey, and Singapore in the past days.

The deal between the two companies will lead to the development of a similar company like NEC, which has 120 years of experience in telecom equipment makers and a contractor for defense. Up to the moment, familiar contractors are under threat and very slow to undergo more dynamic startups, and this has made growth in the private sector in the US take over the launching of the space missions. Such as the companies and government agencies that private contact companies ate, such as NASA.

Rise in the sale of EVs despite Corona Pandemic

The vehicle industries have experienced significant changes that have revolutionized the industry. Consequently, COVID-19 has disrupted the supply  of electric vehicle’s raw materials like graphite, praseodymium, lithium, and nickel.

Despite global economic crush, EV sales have surprisingly rose during the pandemic. For example, according to statistical analysis, the EV sales globally had increased by 16 percent in February this year compared to February last year. Furthermore, China is the most affected country, has tabulated a 65 percent increase in EV sales. Resultantly, Europe has recorded the highest growth in sales of 111 percent in February.

As stated above, China serves as an outsourcing company for several companies. Likewise, 50 percent of the supply of EV originates from China. However, the country’s lockdown has seen many of EV manufacturing companies close down. Researchers predict that the lockdown is likely to affect the sales in March and April. Also, some other car manufacturing companies like Tesla and Volkswagen have shut down their factories to minimize the spread of coronavirus.

On the brighter side, the cases of coronavirus in China have begun to decrease, and hopefully, many companies will soon continue with production. Likewise, other companies still operate but isolating its employees as the work is in progress.  


The impact of space travel on the body

Over the past decades, space exploration has encountered significant breakthroughs from the discovery of new planets, new constituents in different worlds, a successful launch of the first person on the moon, and the development of various objects in the universe. Nevertheless, recent research showed that space exploration affects brain function. 

The brain is the control system of the body, and it translates and distributes information to the rest of the body, causing either voluntary or involuntary movements. The research conducted displayed that the brain is affected during space flights that resultantly causes impaired eyesight. Indeed, continuous exposure of microgravity causes swelling in the brain that results in an increased level of cerebrospinal fluid. The research, therefore, is in-line with the fundamental theory that space travel affects the brain cells. Also, Kramer noted that continuous exposure to microgravity caused compression in the pituitary gland, which links the problem to a brain malfunction. Also, after a year out of space travel, the effects of impaired eyesight decreased the pituitary gland, and swelled brain cells were still present hence confirming that the impact had a long-term result. 


Sweden plunges deep into renewables as OX2 states to establish the third-largest wind company

Wind energy is an essential source of renewable energy since it contributes to environmental preservation by minimizing carbon emission that will otherwise contribute to global warming. Based on an agreement signed by Lundin petroleum, which is currently striving to shift to a renewable source of power, OX2 will initiate its project sitings in Metsalamminkangas. The area is well known for its encouraging wind conditions hence an entire region to establish a wind firm. Additionally, the site comprises of 245.5 MW turbines that were constructed by GE Renewable Energy. Alex Schneiter, the managing director of Lundin, states that the merger will yield more renewable energy in the country, therefore, minimizing carbon emission.

Stratolaunch has plans to launch hypersonic vehicles using the largest plane in the world

 The largest airplane in the world ever built has found another use, according to Stratolaunch. Stratolaunch company founder is Paul Allen in 2001, who is also a co-founder of Microsoft. The original plan for the airplane was to launch a satellite with a wingspan of 117 meters. In 2018 October, Allen died, and later the company management sold it, which raised many questions about the future of the company. 

This year, most of the questions have answers. According to the information available to the company website, it has re-established itself and now is one of the builders’ operators and testers of the hypersonic vehicles. The vehicle can travel faster than the sound of sound or the speed of Mach 5. 

Stratolaunch CEO Floyd W. Jean, on his statement on the website of the company, said that the hypersonic testbeds they build would be the catalyst for sparking rebirth in the technology used in Hypersonic for our government and both commercial and academia sectors.

The plan is the main thing in the new mission, vehicle hauling the test of different payloads aloft in the dangerous environments that will occur on the hypersonic flight. The stratolaunch Talon-A will be among the vehicles in the mission, which is 8.5m long and weighs 2,722 kilograms. THE aircraft is reusable and can reach Mach 6.

Talon-A primary function is to conduct flights with long-duration at high Mach, and then it will come back for an autonomous. It will land horizontally on the runway that it conventional, which the company refers to it as the description of the craft condition. The other ability of the vehicle is the autonomous ability with its power through the conventional runway.

This large dual-fuselage spacecraft formerly it was Roc, but the name changed to stratolaunch. It will have the ability to drag three Talons-As one at a time. The end of the envisioned road is not Talon-A, but the company is developing Talon-Z.
