After the shooting death of a woman earlier this week, a man from Houston is now wanted for murder, according to the local police. The man is said to have killed the woman on Thursday at a residence located in the 200 block of Joe Louis Street, according to the Palestine police.
Officers report that they were dispatched to the scene shortly before 10 p.m. in response to reports of a shooting has taken place there. The police say that when they arrived, they discovered a woman inside the house who had what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the torso.
The victim was taken to the hospital, but she ultimately succumbed to her injuries there and died. When emergency medical personnel arrived, they performed CPR on her and then transported her there. Brittany Johnson, age 30, was identified as the victim, and she was from Palestine.
According to the investigators, the suspect is Johnson’s former boyfriend, Joseph Christopher Cole, who is 50 years old and lives in Houston.

The authorities claim that they have a warrant out for Cole’s arrest on the charge of murder, but they have not been able to find him.
