A fireman was “carelessly” struck and ki!!ed in a car accident in 2013 by the mother of a South Carolina woman accused of driving while intoxicated and mu*dering a newlywed bride earlier this month.

Traci Komoroski, the mother of DUI suspect Jamie Lee Komoroski, was a party to the March 2013 incident in New Jersey that claimed the life of fireman Jeffrey Scheuerer, 35.

The estate of Scheuerer claimed in a 2014 civil lawsuit that Komoroski, who was 52 at the time,”negligently and carelessly failed to appreciate [Scheuerer] and the general firefighting activity in the area, resulting in her striking [Scheuerer’s] body causing grievous and ultimately fatal injuries.”

The lawsuit, which at the time requested a jury trial, stated that “As a direct and proximate result of the aforesaid carelessness, negligence and recklessness of the defendants, [Scheuerer] was violently struck, sustaining painful and permanent injuries and resultant de@th,”

Ultimately, the plaintiffs and Komoroski settled the lawsuit for $100,000.

According to the Hunterdon County Democrat, the preliminary investigation into the crash, which was conducted in April 2013, found that on the morning of March 28, 2013, a “sudden” shift in the wind caused smoke to obstruct three drivers’ views of a firetruck blocking Lebanon-Stanton Road with its emergency lights flashing.

Scheuerer was fatally struck by the firetruck by the third driver, Komoroski.

At the time of the crash, Scheuerer was “operating a hose reel on the driver’s side of the firetruck and was in the southbound lane” when a “sudden shift in the wind brought heavy smoke into the roadway and caused a significant reduction in visibility,” according to Kearns.

Three cars were traveling southbound in the same lane when the wind and smoke changed, and they were coming up on the firetruck, which they did not notice “until the last second,” according to the former county prosecutor.

According to the Hunterdon County Democrat, Kearns stated, “This was a tragic accident and our deepest sympathies go out to Mr. Scheuerer’s family, the Readington Volunteer Fire Company; as well as Mr. Scheuerer’s colleagues in the New Jersey Forest Fire Service,”

More recently, according to court documents, Komoroski’s 25-year-old daughter Jamie Lee Komoroski allegedly struck Samantha Miller and Aric Hutchinson’s golf cart with her red Toyota Camry minutes after they left their wedding reception on Folly Beach, South Carolina, ki!!ing the bride and seriously hurting the groom.

Miller died instantaneously on April 28 while still dressed for her wedding. Hutchinson had facial fractures, fractured bones, and a brain hemorrhage. Two family members on the golf cart also made it out alive.

Police said Komoroski was driving 65 mph on a 25 mph road when his blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit. Miller’s mother told Fox News Digital she believes that the fatal crash “wasn’t an accident.”

“This person chose to drink, get behind the wheel, and plow down my daughter,” Lisa Miller, an addiction specialist, said on March 12. “This is a conscious choice that a young lady made.”

In the meanwhile, Jamie Komoroski’s lawyers encouraged the general public not to make snap decisions.

“We cannot fathom what the families are going through and offer our deepest sympathies,” the attorneys previously told Fox News Digital. “We simply ask that there not be a rush to judgment. Our court system is founded upon principles of justice and mercy, and that is where all facts will come to light.”

According to court documents, the Coastal Carolina University alumnus, employed at a Mexican restaurant on Folly Beach, is accused of three counts of felony DUI causing severe bodily harm or de@th and one count of reckless murder.
