Stephen Kessler debuted his feature picture directing with the 1997 comedy Vegas Vacation. Elisa Bell wrote the script for the fourth movie in the National Lampoon’s Vacation series, which she co-wrote with Bob Ducsay.
Chevy Chase, Beverly D’Angelo, Randy Quaid, Wayne Newton, Ethan Embry, and Wallace Shawn are among the actors in the movie. In addition to the usual antics, it relates to the tale of Clark Griswold taking his family to Las Vegas to renew his vows to Ellen.
After debuting at the box office, the movie made more than $36.4 million domestically. Vegas Vacation is the first theatrical movie without a writer’s credit for John Hughes or the National Lampoon moniker.
